And then they all were gone…

I suppose I could go out to town, or go looking for her——
Wait a minute, maybe it’d be better to wait…
If it’s a walk, you’d think she wouldn’t be out for more than thirty minutes, or at worst, an hour, and it would be a pain if I moved around half-heartedly and missed her coming back.
After finishing my objective in coming here, taking a refined interlude to pass the time would be nice. It’s not like I came to see the sights, anyway.
Then again, as long as these stomach rumblings continue unabashed, I can’t really get in the mood to sit around.
To that end, I decide to ponder over a few solutions.
Solution #1: return to bed.
Such a luxury rest might do the trick, but unfortunately, I’ve had plenty of sleep.
I’ve managed to wake up in time to make it to school with time left over, without an alarm, no less, so it might even be difficult to fall asleep.
So, Solution #2: reading.
I have an unfinished paperback in my bag. But I’ve only about a fifth left to go, and I’d like to save it for a little longer……
Ahh, there’s probably a book store in town, so I could just buy another book there, couldn’t I?
Hmm… should I read… should I not…?
Well, putting that off for now, solution #3. Give Youko-chan a call.
I imagine there are many people sleeping at this time, seeing as it’s vacation, but Youko-chan is early to bed and early to rise.
Just like the children who participate in radio calisthenics, she’s liable to get a perfect attendance prize, being such an early riser-san.
It’s enough to make her the designated alarm girl for the nighthawks in school vacation parties, so I’m sure she’s already awake.
Her parents are both on vacation, so I won’t be a bother, right? Even if they were, it’s her cell phone……
